        Currently many resources are utilised in the district home services to ensure that users who are dependant on medication several times a day, take their medicine. Manual procedures can also cause medicating errors. Many users will benefit from an electronic medicinal dispenser in their own home that automatically reminds the user to take their medication. If the medicine is not taken or an error has occurred, a warning will be sent to the responsible supervisor.

        Oslo municipality has previously entered into an agreement for a simplified multi-dose dispensing system. The products included in this agreement apply to a multi-dose dispensing system which can be used by a broad group of users with special requirements. These requirements are given in the requirement specification.

        Oslo kommune has a goal that the individual resident shall be able to live an active life and live in their own home as long as they wish. Increased mastery of every day life, better quality of life and improved safety shall be a focus in the preventative work. A part of this is to use technological welfare solutions as a support in addition to the executive health service.

        Currently many resources are utilised in the district home services to ensure that users who are dependant on medication several times a day, take their medicine. Manual procedures can also cause medicating errors. Many users will benefit from an electronic medicinal dispenser in their own home that automatically reminds the user to take their medication. If the medicine is not taken or an error has occurred, a warning will be sent to the responsible supervisor.

        There are approx. 5 000 persons in Oslo municipality who are using multi-dosage systems, approx. 3 500 of these users are included in the Home Care Service (HEL) The remaining users are in the Nursing home service and the sheltered accommodation service. The numbers of users in these services will increase. Oslo municipality has previously entered into an agreement for a simplified multi-dose dispensing system. The current objective is that 300 users shall have multi-dose dispensers in work by 2017.

        The products included in this agreement apply to a multi-dose dispensing system which can be used by a broad group of users with special requirements. These requirements are given in the requirement specification. Target figures for number of users of the multi-dose dispensing system with special requirements are not yet estimated, but a number between 75 and 150 users is a realistic number for 2017. The division of extent between the two systems will be difficult to estimate after 2017.
