EEA 051-2019 Procurement of Geology Services
Bergen Municipality, c/o the Agency for Urban Environment, is responsible for the management, operation and maintenance of all municipal roads in Bergen. From time to time we get notifications of landslides, rock falls, or notes of concern from the public. The Agency for Urban Environment would first like to examine the situation with internal resources. In cases where we are uncertain or where we would like to get the situation clarified, there will be a need for a geologist who can assess the situation.
Bergen Municipality, c/o the Agency for Urban Environment, would like to enter into a contract with a geologist in order to examine situations in both acute/ad-hoc and planned events.
Acute/ad-hoc events
Acute events can, for example, be:
— to assess whether municipal roads ought to be closed for traffic,
— to assess whether an existing situation is safe,
— to assess whether residents ought to be evacuated.
Turn-outs for acute events can occur on any day and at all times of the day/night. The maximum response time must not be more than 2 hours from when the Agency for Urban Environment makes contact. An engineering geologist must be provided, or equivalent with minimum 10 years experience.
We would like a prepared report after the first assessment.
Planned events
Bergen Municipality, c/o the Agency for Urban Environment, needs assessments in cases where there is not an acute need for a geologist. In these cases we would like a prepared report with recommended measures.
Technical follow-up in the field.
This involves guidance and follow-up of contractors working on protection assignments.
This contract has a duration of 2 years from when the contract is signed, with an option to extend further a further 1 + 1 year.
