EEA 035-2019 Transport of Media and other Equipment for Bergen Public Library
Bergen Municipality"s, Department of Culture, Climate and Commerce, c/o Bergen Public Library, has entered into a contract transport for media and other equipment between the main library and branches, as well as between branches.
Bergen Public Library currently consists of the main library, seven branches and 2 prison libraries. The number will most likely increase to eight branches during 2020. See the file ‘The Library"s departments and branches’ under the tab ‘Documents’ in Mercell.
Media includes books, audio books and DVDs packed in open boxes. Cleaning equipment and mops packed in separate boxes will also be transported, as well as cardboard boxes with books (marked with the branch) and possibly other equipment (soap, kitchen roll, etc.).
Media and other equipment is currently transported on four days a week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, in accordance with predefined routes.
There can be extra transport on the Wednesday after Easter due to many deliveries. The route will then be defined by the contracting authority.
See the file routes and days" under the tab ‘Documents’ in Mercell.
A new branch is planned to open in Laksevåg during 2020 and the branch in Landås will be closed in either 2020 or 2021. There will, thus, be changes and adaptations to the route. The Landås branch and the Laksevåg branch could be open simultaneously for an unspecified period. The route would, in this case, temporarily include both branches. It could also be possible that the Laksevåg branch is not opened after the Landås branch has been closed.
The date for the possible opening of the new branch in Laksevåg and the date for the possible closure of the existing branch in Landås are currently not clarified.
A new branch is planned to open in Laksevåg during 2020 and the branch in Landås will be closed in either 2020 or 2021.
The contracting authority reserves the right to include the new Laksevåg branch in the route and to exclude the Landås branch from the route.
The contracting authority will pay extra for driving to the Landås branch (driving in accordance to the route), for as long as this branch is in open.
