         It is desirable to increase the security at several of the country"s prisons.

         Kriminalomsorgen [the Directorate of Norwegian Correctional Service] invites tenderers to participate in a tender competition with dialogue/negotiations to sign an agreement with one service provider for the purchase of body scanners. The Norwegian Correctional Service wants tender offers for a complete solution.

         Initially, money has been allocated for the purchase of up to 4 body scanners for use at Agder prison [Agder fengsel]. Increasing the safety at other prison units when possible is a goal.

         That purchasing will be desired by two entities as soon as 2019/2020, ordering from multiple prisons is anticipated in the coming years. Kriminalomsorgen [the Norwegian Correctional Service] assumes a free trial period in KDI"s premises as this is part of the evaluation.
