The contracting authority wants tender offers for one (1) sterilizing autoclave that will be used to turn medical treatment waste, in the categories of sharps and infectious waste, into regular residual waste.
The contracting authority also wants an option for servicing, training and loading carts.
See Annex 1 — Price Form and Annex 2 — Requirement Specifications for more detailed information.
Haukeland University Hospital.
The contracting authority wants tender offers for one (1) sterilizing autoclave that will be used to turn medical treatment waste, in the categories of sharps and infectious waste, into regular residual waste. The waste to be processes is in vapour permeable hazardous waste plastic sacks, that in turn are in hazardous waste sacks made of cardboard. Sharps/hazardous waste can, in addition, be in UN approved plastic containers before they are placed in plastic sacks and boxes, as described above. The boxes will be stabled in the trolley that is then rolled into the sterilizing autoclave. On average, the waste is in cold storage for 1 to 2 days (1-4 degrees Celsius) before being sterilised. The current process in the sterilizer takes approx. 80 minutes, of which approx. 12 minutes are at 134 degreed Celsius. The sterilizer operates 7 days a week and runs approx. five processes daily.
The sterilizer will be installed in Miljøhallen at Haukeland University Hospital, and will be operated by the personnel who work there.
The current loading carts have external measurements of 133 x 83 x 151 cm (LxWxH), and one cart is used per process. The load per process is 16 boxes with an average weight of approx. 5 kg, so the load is approx. 80 kg of waste per process.
The Contracting Authority must have the option to expand the contract to include the following products and services:
1) Loading carts/trolley (up to three units);
2) Service contract (see Annex 1 Price Form and Annex 4 Overview of Service Levels);
3) Training (see Annex 1 Price Form and Annex 2 Requirement Specification);
The option must be triggered in writing.
