Award of Contract, Georgia — Production of Digital Cartographic Data
With economic support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Norwegian Mapping Agency has cooperated with Georgia"s national agency for public registers — NAPR since 2014. In 2018, Statens kartverk [the Norwegian Mapping Authority] delivered digital orthophotos (GSD 20 cm) and digital terrain models for selected areas in Georgia, with a combined area of 40,000 km2.
Statens kartverk [the Norwegian Mapping Authority] c/o International services, has received funds from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to implement a project in Georgia ‘Maps for Sustainable Development’, with the primary goal of producing digital base maps for an area of approx. 40,000 km2.
International services are responsible for the procurement.
Georgia.
Selected tenderers must produce digital cartographic data based on the source data delivered in the previous project.
Selected tenderers will have access to the source data after signing the contract. The tenderer will be requested to sign a contract for secrecy, that forbids the transfer of source data to a third party.
The total project area is approx. 40,000 km2. The project area is divided into 4 blocks, and each of the blocks is divided into multiple parts. Altogether there are 54 parts. Each of the parts contains one or 2 types of mapping areas — urban and rural. The boundaries of the project area with distribution in blocks, parts and mapping areas are given in Appendix 5 and 6.
Each of the parts has a prioritised order and the tenderer must follow the order in their delivery plan.
Each of the parts is labelled as either ‘Current’ or ‘Option’. The contracting authority has the opportunity to extend the contract to one or more ‘Option’ parts, on verbatim terms.
The maps for urban areas will be constructed in accordance with accuracy requirements for Standard A. The maps for rural areas will be constructed in accordance with accuracy requirements for Standard B. Detailed requirements for the mapping construction process, accuracy and deliveries are stated in appendix 2 — Product Specification for Digital Base Maps.
The boundaries of the project area with distribution in blocks, parts and mapping areas are given in Appendix 5 and 6.
